I think the best business advice I have ever received is “Do Something for Your Business Every Day.”
The second best piece of advice offers a specific “something” that will truly make a difference: “Read for 30 Minutes Every Day.”
I can’t think of a single thing that has had such a great impact on my personal and business success as reading every day, whether for information or inspiration.
Here are some recent titles from my library that have shaped my most current thinking and planning…
- Now something of a “cult classic,” Michael Gerber’s books are profoundly important *must-reads* for every entrepreneur. I read the classic edition in the bookstore and brought this sequel home. Read the first half. Apply the principles. And then come back for seconds in the later chapters.
- I’m playing the Maxwell Maltz classic on my iPod right now, and I’m still wondering why I didn’t grab this one sooner. Transform your every day thinking into goal & purpose-driven mental focus. To put it mildly: Read this book (or listen to the audio) and change your entire life!
- Joe Vitale is just plain amazing. He doesn’t know it yet, but this guy’s in my “Imaginary Mastermind Group.” Learn how to master the most important skill for internet entrepreneur’s - writing for persuasion. Get the book that started it all, or check out the original ebook version.
- I just purchased Jim Cockrum’s classic last night and have already read and re-read dozens of sections. I’m not an eBay guy (yet!), but just couldn’t help but take a look at this instant bestseller! (Primarily recommended for eBay entrepreneurs.)
Brian Tracy Success Mastery Seminar
- Ah, yes… Brian Tracy. Yet another “Imaginary Mastermind” icon. I have listened to this Success Seminar over and over and over again. I still benefit every time! Pay special attention to Tracy’s intense coverage of goal-setting. (I couldn’t find an appropriate link for the audio book, but do highly recommend the Audible.com service where I obtained my copy.)
- I am still implementing this system into my working and personal life, but the results so far have been outstanding! David Allen’s productivity expertise is unprecedented. Pick this one up and start Getting Things Done in all areas of your life…
There are so many more great books out there to read, and so many I have read in the past. Soon enough I’ll add a Resources list to the website here, but I wanted to offer you something useful today.
I’d also love to hear any suggestions & recommendations for key titles you’ve enjoyed - especially those that would appeal to entrepreneurs.
Happy reading!
